I grew up in Georgia where I was heavily involved in sports receiving 10 scholastic letters and I was awarded scholarships in both football and baseball. I also received the United States Marine Corps Award having the highest GPA combined with the most scholastic sports played in my region. I attended Truett McConnell College on a NCAA baseball scholarship and then transferred to the University of Georgia. I also studied physical therapy under Dr. Donald Chu, head of medicine at Stanford University.
In 1996, I began to practice Prana and classical Iyengar Yoga, under Guru Pagan. I then went to the Dao Healing Arts School in Santa Monica California to study Chinese Medicine and Chi. I was fascinated by the possiblitly of combining both the Hindu and Chinese physical and energetic worlds and earned a diploma from the California School of Shiatsu in 2001. Growing up, my high school football coach owned the local Tae Kwon Do dojo which gave me my first exposure to martial arts at 15. Placing 3rd in state for high school wrestling, jui jitsu was a natural transition. I trained at 10th planet jui jitsu, under the tutelage of Master Eddie Bravo. I received boxing training under Gold Medalist Terry Norris and Muy Thai at Legends Mix Martial Arts Academy. Shifting gears into the world of show business, I spent 4 years on the television show 7th Heaven. I then lived the rock ‘n roll life, spending 5 years signed to Atlantic Records as a recording artist and traveled the country. All this time I was doing yoga, massage and training martial arts with some of the most profound trainers and fighters in the world which gave me a broad vision and perspective beyond the world of performing. I realized my true calling was to be of service, to train others, to teach and help people with their path to health and healing. Our sessions involve yoga, martial arts, massage, separately or in any desired combination, strongly integrating breath and allowing all things to cultivate from that mindful place. |
