I was born and raised in Croatia. This is where I started my martial arts and fitness career. I got involved in martial arts very early at age 7. What followed later was studying a cascade of different martial arts styles from Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu, Kick Boxing, Boxing Judo , wrestling and others. After completing high school I decided to pursue a career in sports. I enrolled in the Physical Education and Kinesiology Department at the University of Zagreb. During my studies at the University, I was actively competing in martial arts and I was the only full time student who was a member of the National Kick Boxing team. Keeping my full time schedule at the University and competing on the top level was not easy. However, I still managed to win many competitions including 6 National Championship titles, a European Champion title and a World Championship bronze medal.
I never allowed for my education to fall behind. I graduated with honors and 3.7 GPA. After my graduation I decided to end of my competitive sports career and pursue my education. Moving to NYC and I started my Masters Degree program in Exercise Physiology at Brooklyn College where I coached many individual and group fitness and martial arts classes. I had the opportunity to work in many different fitness facilities ranging from big corporate fitness centers as well as small private studios. This gave me a good “picture” of different fitness approaches to training as well as the realistic fitness needs of the modern American individual. I graduated from Brooklyn College at the top of my class and the National Dean’s list honors. I moved to Los Angeles where I continue to coach private and group fitness classes and keep on gathering valuable knowledge to improve myself as a professional and as an individual. My approach to fitness coaching lies in my belief that every individual is unique in his or her needs, wants and capacities. I keep this at the core of my fitness coaching and programming so I can help each person, no matter what their age or level, to truly meet their full fitness and health potential. |
